Spooky Whippet

aka HallowWeenie.. Its been a long hot Summer.. and now that Fall is here it looks like its going to be a long hot Fall. I envy my cousins living in the mountains.. they have already had snow. Speaking of my cousins, you should check out their blog, Two Special Wires. They are much more creative and ambitious than me.. (blame that on my Mom). They have a new addition to the family. If you ask me he's kinda funny looking, but in a really cute kinda way! And he arrived in a hot air balloon all the way from England!
My Mom's gone back to work full time and I'm left alone during the day to watch Animal Planet, but I enjoy going over to see my other cousins, Andy and Chloe after she gets home from work. I'm trying to teach them how to catch the little red rubber ball in mid air, but not getting very far. They are trying to teach me how to bark! HA! HA! HA!

For my BFFs..
I am so eggs-cited! Jake and Fergie and their PEOPLE are on their way to visit me for the summer! That's Jake in the front and Fergie is behind him. Oh, and that is Mishka, the magnificent bear, who goes absolutely everywhere, keeping an eye on them! So... they are at the Dog Park in Salina, Kansas right now having all kinds of fun! Its suppose to be a very special Dog Park, maybe i will get to see it one day. Hope the rain stays ahead of them. I know what wet dog smell is like in the car.
I made that fantastic card above just to welcome them. (Yes, I am a most talented dog.. I make my own cards for my friends and PEOPLE with a little help from HER). Well, HER new "BFF" stamp set from Shirley's 2 Girls just arrived yesterday and was a perfect image for a welcome card to give my two Wire Haired Terriers friends, Jake and Fergie. They will be arriving Tuesday to spend the summer with me. The two dogs kinda look like a Wire and a Whippet, don't you think? I wish there had been two Wires instead of just one, but maybe when Jake looks at it he will think "COOL, that's me!!" and when Fergie looks at it she will think, " Zoe is sooooooo talented, she captured my image purrr-fectly!!"
P.S. You can follow their trip on their blog, Two Special Wires.
Update:Jake enjoying the Dog Park in Salina. They're back on the road now heading toward Ottawa and Kansas City.

I'm a CARD..
Mumzie is a collector of "all things DOG" and specifically DOG stamps. I've waited for a long time for her to find a good image of a whippet she could buy. She finally found one at a stamp company called Hanna Stamps. She spends lots of time in her craft room making cards and gifts and I love to sleep in my very own chair right there in the room with her while she works. Sometimes I even like to help her. This is one of the cards she made and that's me in the back. She makes all sorts of cards and gifts and has her own blog. She would really be pleased if you would check her out.

This is the stuff she used to make the card. Stampers call it the recipe but it sure doesn't smell like DOG TREATS to me!!
Stamp sets: Hanna Stamps- My Best Friend, Large Breed Dog.
Ink: Palette Hybrid- Noir
Paper: DCWV-The Pets Stack, Arturo-Bright White, SU!-Taken With Teal
Accessories: Gift Ribbon from Ellen Hutson, SU! Punch, Dog Bone Eyelet from my sister, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Lyra Rembrandt Polycolour Pencils, Gamsol, Pop Dots.

My Name is WhippetView's Sassy Kat.. affectionately known by my Mumzie as Zoƫ
That's me last summer on my vacation to Colorado up in Estes Park. Jake, (you can see his blog HERE and I rode for three days with our two legged persons ( my Mumzie, Jake's Mumzie and Jake's Mumzie's daughter from Panama City Beach, Florida, where I live to Jake's home in Colorado for a two week vacation. Then Mumzie and I drove back by ourselves in our new Honda van. Its much nicer having a large car and a back seat all to myself with my very own seatbelt.
I am 4 1/2 years old. My birthday is November 2, 2004. My Mom, who is affectionately know as my Mumzie, had Great Danes as companions for over 30 years. When Catherine VonMeistersinger (affectionately known as Catherine) went to the Rainbow Bridge, my Mumz decided it was time to do some downsizing. She had met a wonderful Whippet while she and Catherine lived in NYC and fell in love with the breed. We were the perfect size and temperment to fit into her home. She did lots of research on the computer ( probably where I get my techie interest and abilities) and found a breeder who set their breeding standards very high. (Maybe tomorrow I will post a little about my parents and their people for you to read.) She contacted them and after a series of interviews was approved to take one of the puppies from a just born litter home when it was old enough.. (that was ME!!) The breeders selected two of us from which she could choose.. I really hoped it was going to be me.. the quieter, just a little shy ( I prefer to think reserved) loving and loyal doe eyed girl. And guess what.. she picked ME!
I went home with her shortly before Valentine's Day in 2005.
